POLICY FOR CHECKING ITEMS OUT OF THE PARISH
October 17, 2016
If you wish to borrow any item from the Church, you must sign for it. You may check out the item two days prior to the event. The item must be returned the following day after the event. You must sign out for the item in the Church office during office hours. The item is to be returned where it was when it was picked up. For example, if it was in the Parish Center, that is where it is to be returned. If there is any damage to the item, the item must be replaced with one of equal or greater value. NOTE: The item is to be signed out for and signed back in showing the date returned. The form will be available in the Church office during office hours.
Anyone borrowing an item must be given a copy of this policy.
KITCHEN PROCEDURES FOR LUNCHEONS AND/OR OTHER EVENTS
PRIOR TO AND AT THE EVENT:
–Make coffee and juice (for 75, prepare a large pot of regular; 2 smaller pots for decaf and one pot of hot water; make two gallons of juice and two quarts of cold water). It takes one hour for the large pot to perk.
–Turn both hot water heaters up to high.
–You must turn gas on at the back of the stove and light each burner first and then you can turn off all the burners except the one(s) you intend to use. The oven must be lit separately at the bottom of the stove (remove the bottom panel to do this). SEE COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS POSTED BEHIND THE STOVE.
–Turn the light and the fan on above the stove.
–Turn heat up, if needed. PLEASE USE ONLY THE ARROWS ON THE RIGHT OF THE THERMOSTAT. WHEN YOU ARROW UP, THAT TEMPERATURE WILL REMAIN FOR TWO HOURS; IF YOU NEED MORE TIME FOR HEAT, JUST PUSH THE UP ARROW AGAIN. THIS WILL AGAIN HOLD FOR TWO MORE HOURS.
— IF THERE IS A FIRE, PLEASE NOTE THE FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM FOR THE STOVE WORKS BY PULLING THE PIN AND THE RED RING ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE KITCHEN REFRIGERATOR.
–Get plates out on the counter (stack of expected number of guests).
–Cups out (on a cart by hutch).
–Glasses out (can put on board that covers the sink in the dining room).
–Dessert dishes and forks on table by the bulletin board (can use either paper or glass).
–Creamer, sugar, salt and pepper on tables.
–Wrapped silverware in large basket at the opposite end from the plates.
–It seems to work best if the meat is in the middle of the island with salads and hot dishes on either side of the meat.
–Turn on dishwasher. PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS POSTED; YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADD SOAP.
–As needed, either refill dishes on island or remove empty dishes.
–Make sure serving spoons are available for all dishes.
–Make sure there is both toilet paper and paper towels in the bathrooms.
–Supplies for both are kept in the storage area under the stairs.
AFTER THE EVENT:
–If it’s a funeral, give any leftover food to the family or Senior Center or Nursing Homes.
–NO FOOD IS TO BE LEFT IN THE REFRIGERATOR; GIVE IT AWAY OR FREEZE IT.
–Clean tables vacuum under tables if needed.
–Wash all dishes and put away.
–WHEN YOU LET THE WATER OUT OF THE SINK BY THE DISHWASHER, PLEASE DO SO SLOWLY OR THE FLOOR WILL FLOOD.
